Here is the complete procedure needed for making a passport for IITB students. Before filing the application form ensure that you have the following documents.

(1) "Bonafide Certificata":A proof of being an IITB student
Bonafide certificate can be obtained from the Academic section. You need to fill an application form for the same. Make sure you carry your I-Card.

(2) Birth Certificate
Students whose date of birth is before 26 Jan, 1989 do not require birth certificate. They can simply give their proof by 10th class certificates along with an "Affidavit for Birth". This Affidavit can be obtained from any advocate, one of them sits near the Parivar shop opposite to the main gate.

Student whom date of birth is on or after 26 Jan, 1989 must have birth certificate. This certifate can be obtained from Municipality or from "Gram Panchayat"/Tahseel.

(3) Resident proof from your Hostel
(Minimum stay reqd. is atleast 1 year. In case you have stayed in your hostel for less than one year, then you will need another certificate of residence from your previous hostel. In case you are a freshmen, then you MAY have to get your passport done from your hometown.)

(4) Canara Bank Passbook
(this is optional)

(5) Your 10th & 12th class maksheets and certifictes

(6) IITB I-Card
