For those of you who're new and still haven't figured your way out, a few tips.

The top right hand corner (if you've registered) should read "Hello <your name>". Below it there are links for "Show unread posts since last visit" and "Show replies to your posts". These two links are by far the most useful ones in remaining up to date with the activity here. Also, there is a "View the most recent posts on the forum" link near the bottom of the homepage.

Click on boards and individual posts to read them. You cannot comment on Locked Topics (those with a lock symbol by the name) and the Sticky Topics (denoted by a board-pin beside the name) contain most of the useful information - what is lingo-ed as fundae.

See you around!

The forum is now becoming iterative. Same / related queries are being asked again and again and in different threads. It becomes tiresome answering the same questions on our part. We request you to use the amazing search facility before posting any query. Maybe someone has already asked the same doubt as you! That's the whole point of a forum right?

Let's avoid repetition and duplication of efforts. Let's pledge to use the Search facility. Smiley
Help us help you.

Thanks!

One more thing... (Uniterative and pertaining to this thread only, i assure Tongue) just out of curiosity... what do those stars beneath the forum lords' name in the leftside pane indicate?? number of posts/replies, or rank, or something like that??

Forum Lords get to have 5 rust coloured stars and Mentors are bestowed with 5 cobalt blue stars. That's just to help the reader differentiate who's posting - an information giver or a receiver Grin

And more of this should be moved to Random Thoughts!

Cheers Smiley

Normally, stars are used in forums to show user seniority in terms of number of posts.

Since that is irrelevant here, I have set 5 stars for all seniors, and 0 stars for freshies.

And the color of stars denote how important it is to please that person:

Blue: Doesnt matter
Orange: Do as they say, or they will ban you
