Be it the frequent tennis-ball stuff played in all parts of the campus or the more serious season-ball stuff practiced by a select few, you could trust Cricket to provide SOME crazy level of participation in this part of the world! With considerable efforts, IIT Bombay has developed one of the lushest cricket ground in Mumbai, with no disturbances unlike other Mumbai cricket grounds where you'll find 4-5 matches going on in one ground.

Activities
Cricket is the most desired sport in the NSO programme, with around 200 people vying for the 20 odd available berths. The Inter Hostel Championship (held in the spring semester) sees the maximum participation for any sport. The institute teams participate in the Inter IIT Sports Meet and also regularly (read every weekend!) play friendly matches with local clubs and college teams. Sophomore GC is conducted at the beginning of the new session.
Some new events have also been introduced from this year in order to provide more chances to the cricket lovers who could not make up to NSO and INTER-IIT. MIXED Cricket, a mixed event (girls and boys).Seven member teams, with minimum 2 girls and maximum 2 Inter-IIT players will be participating in it. This is an open tournament for IITB students with no year, hostel, etc. constrain. One month boys cricket camps is to be conducted for teaching the basics of the game and skill improvement in the game. Please make a note that performances in the camp does count for your selection in the Inter-IIT tournament following them.
