Vivek Shah

A pass out from Chemical Engineering Department,he was the goal keeper for 3 consecutive years for the IIT Bombay water polo team. He was part of the silver medal winning team at Guwahati 2007. He is currently at

 

 


Harsh Shah

A pass outfrom Civil Engineering Department, Harsh was a water polo player for the IIT Bombay team. He used to play in the defensive position. Has been part of the aquatics team since his second year. Was a part of the bronze winning team in 2005. Was a member of the water polo team in the years 2005,2007 and 2008.

 

 


Sarwesh Paradkar

His performances have been phenomenal to the point of being a real inspiration and pride to the sports community in IIT Bombay. Currently ranked as 8th in India in 50m Backstroke in the 62nd Senior National Swimming Championship (FINA affiliated event) wherein he competed with professional swimmers who have represented India at the Beijing Olympics. He has been ranked 5th in India in the university category when he represented IIT Bombay at the All India Inter University Nationals.

Being one of the fastest Backstroke swimmers in Maharashtra, he has dominated the event in Mumbai since past two years. He has won several medals at the state and district level in various other swimming styles. He represented IIT Bombay at the Mumbai Inter Collegiate Swimming Championship organized by Fr. Agnel Engineering College where he won all the 7 individual gold medals thereby winning the Best Swimmer Award. He has won several medals and Best Swimmer title at the IIT Open State Level Swimming Gala.

Known as the Golden Boy of IIT Bombay, he holds the record for winning the maximum number of gold medals in Inter IIT Swimming and also the maximum gold medals in a single meet. He has won 50 gold medals in Inter IIT Swimming and has been awarded the Best Swimmer and Fastest Swimmer Title for 5 consecutive years. He won all the 12 individual gold medals in Inter IIT Swimming 2004. He holds 5 individual records in Inter IIT Swimming.

Abhishek

Fauji, as Abhishek is popularly known, was a part of the aquatics team since his first year.He is a pass out student from Aerospace Department. In his first year he marked his enrty into the team with his participation in the 1500m freestyle event in Inter IIT. He was also a part of the water polo team that won bronze in Inter IIT in 2005 and silver in 2006. In his second year, he got an Institute Special Mention for Swimming and Waterpolo and also received the Hostel Colour for sports that year. He received the Best Office Bearer award from the institute for his work as Aquatics Secretary in 2007 - 2008 during which he initiated team triathlon and conducted Swimmathon after a gap of 4 years. He also participated in two swimmathons completing the 12 hour challenge both times with 21.2 km in 2008 and 20.1 km in 2009. In his final year, he secured 4th position in 50m butterfly and played as a main defender in the Water polo team.

Kartikeya Shah

  A pass out from Chemical Engineering Department, Kartikeya was a swimmer and water polo player for the IIT Bombay team right from his first year. He was in the water polo team that won bronze in Inter IIT 2005 and silver in 2006. In 2007, he was the highest goal scorer for IIT Bombay in water polo. As swimming captain of the Inter IIT aquatics team in 2008, he was part of the relay team that won gold in the 4 x 100m medley event and set a new record.
