participated

Sports
Meet at
the
Marathwada
Agricultural
University,
Parbhani,
Maharashtra,
representing
SNDT
University.
She was
the sole
swimmer
amongst
the
total
number
of
athletes
representing
the
University
in
various
games.
She won
bronze
in 100m
backstroke
and
silver
in 50m
freestyle.Pankaja
was
specially
honored
a the
2006
Republic
Day
Parade
where
the SNDT
Vice
Chancellor
Dr Rupa
Shah
took the
salute
and
honored
her with
a
plaque,
for
outstanding
achievment
in
sports
for SNDT
University.
She also
came 3rd
in 50m
freestyle
in
college
girls
category
in the
IIT Open
State
Level
Swimming
Gala in
2006 and
in 2007,
she
stood
second
in 50m
freestyle,
third in
100m
freestyle
and 100m
backstroke.Academic
and
other
commitments
did not
allow
Pankaja
to
participate
recently
in the
Swimmathon,
Triathlon,
a nd Sea
races,
something
she has
done
regularly
before
the year
2000.
Pratima
Satish
Accomplished
in
swimming
and
academics,
Pratima
Satish
has just
completed
her Std.
XII
examination
in which
she
stood
first in
school
with a
percentage
of 96.2.
Her
swimming
career
has been
equally
impressive,
with her
yearly
haul of
medals
in
various
competitive
events.Right
from
2003,
where
she
stood
first in
200m
breast
stroke,second
in 100m
butterfly
and 3rd
in 400m
Freestly
in KVS
National
Meet at
Delhi to
the KVS
National
Meet in
Hyderabad
in 2008,
where
she
stood
first in
all her
individual
events.
Pratima
has
secured
admission
and 95%
scholarship
to
Cornell
University
in
Ithaca,
New York
State,
USA.

Koppikare
A
student
of
Electrical
Engineering
at IIT,
he's
been a
swimmer
since he
was 8.He
came
second
in the 5
km
sea-race
when he
was 10
and was
10th in
the 5 km
World
Open
Water
Meet at
Perth in
Jan
1997.In
1998,
Milind
got a
silver
at the
Maharashtra
State
Aquatic
Championships
and
followed
that up
with a
bunch of
medals
at the
Inter
Varsity
games.On
April
8th,
1999,
Milind
Koppikare
was
awarded
the
Chhatrapati
award
by the
Government
of
Maharashtra
At the
Convocation
1999,
Milind
graduated
in
Electrical
Engineering,
and was
awarded
the
President
S. D.
Sharma
Award.
Rahul
Kopikar

A
student
of
Electrical
Engineering
at IIT,
his main
strokes
are
freestyle
and
butterfly.
Between
his
brother
Milind
and him,
they
hauled
in all
the gold
at the
Inter
IIT
Aquatics. A
sea-racer, he
won the
6km Sunk
Rock to
Gateway
of India
Annual
Sea Race
in 1998
and
1999. He
participated
at the
Maharashtra
State
Under-20
Water
Polo
meet,
pushed
his team
to a
bronze
medal,
and was
selected
to be a
member
of the
Maharashtra
State
water
polo
team,
for the
Nationals
1998.
Sarwesh
Paradkar
His
performances
have
been
phenomenal
to the
point of
being a
real
inspiration
and
pride to
the rest
of the
swimming
community
at IIT
Bombay.
His
biggest
achievement
in
swimming
happened
when he
stood
8th in
India in
the 50m
backstroke
in the
62nd
Senior
Swimming
Nationals
organized
by
Swimming
Federation
of India
(FINA
affiliated
event)
where
Olympic
swimmers
from
India
also
participated!A
few of
his
other
recent
achievements
include
representing
IIT
Bombay
in GMAAA
Open
District
Swimming
Meet
held at
the
Goregaon
Sports
Club. He
won a
gold
medal in
50 m
backstroke
with the
timing
of 30.42
s
narrowly
missing
the old
record
of 30.36
s. His
50m back
stroke
timing
was
equivalent
to the
last
year All
India
Inter
University
gold
medal
timing.
He had
also won
a gold
medal in
100m
butterfly
stroke,
silver
in 100m
back
stroke &
bronze
medal in
50m
butterfly
stroke.
Seeing
his
exemplary
timing
in the
50m
backstroke,
MSAAA
awarded
him
direct
selection
for the
Senior
Nationals.
