Over the years UMIC has evolved from nurturing small hobby projects to solving complex industrial challenges and representing IITB at national and international competitions.
Working at UMIC, students have not only gained experience in practical engineering but have also developed an entrepreneurial attitude. Leading various teams at national and international competitions students have enhanced their operational and leadership skills and have learnt to excel in crunch situations.
Winning Robocon India in 2005 and representing India at ABU-Robocon 2005 in Beijing, standing 1st in the 2011 ASME Student Mechanism and Robot Design Competition held at Washington DC in Aug 2011, standing third at National Geographic`s 'Shaping the Future' Contest in Jan 2009, being invited by the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum to represent India at the Lockheed Martin Innovation Center in June 2011 have been some of the distinguished achievements at our cell.
UMIC@IITB alumni have pursued diversified fields, right from being entrepreneurs, pursuing higher studies in leading universities in USA and Europe, taking up core technical jobs to pursuing operational engineering jobs in multinational corporations.
