General Championship

This event is held once a year in the Autumn Semester for UG Boys and in the Spring Semester for the UG Girls and is part of the Inter Hostel Sports General Championship.

In this event the best Squash players from each hostel go head to head to determine which hostel boasts of the best talent. It is a fiercely contested event with all participants putting in everything they have to win glory for their hostels and earn themselves a chance to break into the Inter-IIT Team.

Institute Squash League

The Institute Squash League is the flagship event of IIT Bombay Squash Club and is held during the spring semester. This tournament is open to all students, alumni, professors and staff . It is a highly competitive knockout tournament with some of the best squash ever played in the Institute on display.

Camps

Squash is a budding sport especially in our institute with enormous growth potential. Being a fun sport that it is, it attracts a lot of beginners . So for the enthusiasts out there , we organise various Beginners’ and Intermediate Camp over the year.The camps are organised under the following banners:

  • Summer School of Sports : This camp is organised for all the sports in Summer Vacation and is taken by a Level 1 professional coach.
  • Prarambh : In-semester camp before Inter-IIT selections which is organised for multiple sports and this camp is also taken by a Professional Coach.
  • Miscellaneous Camps : Beginner’s Camps are organised during the semester to cater to Squash enthusiasts during the semester
  • Pre Inter-IIT Camp : This is the most rigorous camp organised just before the Inter-IIT for the selected few who have the potential to make it to the Inter-IIT contingent and represent the Institute in the coveted Inter-IIT Sports Meet.

NSO

The Government of India, through its National Sports Organization, provides a scheme in all IITs, where all incoming, i.e. first year students, must sign up for a particular sport, and undergo training.

Most of the freshmen who start playing Squash in IIT are trained in the NSO sessions. Every year a selected 15 students take part in Squash NSO. The fundamental skills of all students are built upon in these one and half hour sessions twice a week along with development in advanced game-play skills and fitness. NSO has been the starting point of many Inter-IIT players.

Racketlon

A super exciting competition which comprises of not one but all four racquet sports- Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Badminton and Squash. People have to register in teams of two and each player plays two of these sports.

UV Squash Weekend

This fun proposed event is expected to bring lots of people to the court and increase the members in the Squash Community.It’s a sort of glow in the dark version of the game which would make it even more fun.
