We conduct different GC’s for UG boys and girls and PG’s. Each GC is held once a year in the Autumn Semester for UG Boys and UG girls and is part of the Inter Hostel Sports General Championship.
In this event teams from each hostel go head to head to determine which hostel boasts of the best talent. It is a fiercely contested event with all participants putting in everything they have to win glory for their hostels and earn themselves a chance to break into the Inter-IIT Team.
Volleyball is a popular sport in our institute and so it attracts a lot of beginners .
For the enthusiasts we conduct beginners workshops at different levels to help them learn proper skill sets and continue their passion in volleyball.
It is the flagship open tournament for Volleyball in IIT Bombay. This tournament is open to all students, alumni, professors and staff.
It is held in the Autumn Semester. It is highly competitive and is a must play for all Volleyball enthusiasts as it presents a great opportunity to learn for intermediates as it provides them a platform to go up against experienced players who are a part of the Inter-IIT team.
This tournament has a beginner’s version as well for those who have finished the beginners camp and want to put their skills to a test.
The Government of India, through its National Sports Organization, provides a scheme in all IITs, where all incoming, i.e. first year students, must sign up for a particular sport, and undergo training. This scheme, popularly called NSO, is available to IIT students for training in various sports, such as swimming, hockey, basketball, squash, badminton, tennis, athletics, table tennis, football, etc.
Every Year , 40-50 aspiring freshmen are chosen to learn Volleyball under the guidance of our coach biweekly throughout two semesters. Every year, better players ready for advanced training walk out from this program.
