  3. Sunita Sanghi Centre of Aging and Neurodegenerative Diseases (SCAN) – creating novel tools and biomarkers for the early detection, diagnosis, and prognosis of neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and Frontotemporal Dementia.
About the Speaker Dr. N. R. Jagannathan, FNA, FASc, FNASc, FAMS, FISC, FISMRM (USA) Distinguished Visiting Professor, Koita Centre for Digital Health (KCDH), IIT Bombay Advisor, Chettinad Hospital & Research Institute, Kelambakkam Visiting Professor, Department of Radiology, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai Former Vice-President, Indian National Science Academy (INSA), New Delhi Retired Professor & Head, Department of NMR & MRI Facility, AIIMS, New Delhi Dr. Jagannathan is a globally recognized expert in molecular imaging, MRI spectroscopy, and metabolomics, with extensive experience in pre-clinical and clinical cancer research. Over his illustrious career, he has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed publications and edited five scientific volumes. He was the first scientist from Asia to be elected a Fellow of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) in 2010, in recognition of his pioneering work in MRI and spectroscopy for breast cancer. His numerous accolades include the J.C. Bose National Research Fellowship, S.K. Mitra Birth Centenary Gold Medal (ISCA), and Drs. Kunti & Om Prakash Oration Award (ICMR). Dr. Jagannathan continues to serve as an advisor and mentor to several national and international institutions, contributing to the advancement of MRI technology and molecular diagnostics. Talk Abstract Breast MRI has become a powerful tool for early detection, diagnosis, and management of breast cancer. Recent advances in artificial intelligence (AI) have opened new avenues for enhancing image acquisition, lesion characterization, and workflow efficiency. In this talk, Dr. Jagannathan will explore how AI-based algorithms are transforming MRI applications, from improving tumor segmentation and image quality to aiding clinical decision-making. The discussion will also highlight challenges such as bias, interpretability, and data privacy, raising the question: Is AI in breast MRI a boon or a bane? We look forward to your participation in this engaging session exploring how AI is redefining the landscape of breast MRI and cancer diagnostics.
