Namaste Everyone, As part of the celebrations of the 12th International Day of Yoga, Yogastha is pleased to organize two special events on 20 June 2026. These sessions offer a unique opportunity to experience the depth of yoga both in practice and understanding, while exploring its relevance in fostering physical well-being, emotional balance, and mental clarity in today's world. 1) Experience Iyengar Yoga - Balancing Mind & Emotions Through Body This session will include a hands-on experience of Iyengar style of yoga, focusing on precise alignment as well as getting an understanding of how the body and asana with alignment becomes a doorway for managing emotions and mind, which is the need of the current time. The session will be led by Dr. Rajvi Mehta, Chief Guest for the 12th International Day of Yoga. Iyengar: Evolution, Worldwide Reach, and Research Evidence: The session will include a talk by our Chief Guest for the 12th International Day of Yoga, Dr. Rajvi Mehta, exploring the evolution of Iyengar Yoga and its unique contributions to the field of yoga. The programme will also feature practical demonstrations by IITB faculty, staff, and students, inspiring real-life stories highlighting the transformative role of yoga in overcoming personal challenges, and an overview of research-based evidence that demonstrates the impact of yoga in therapeutic applications as well as in enhancing cognitive function, emotional well-being, and mental balance. She is a practitioner and teacher of Iyengar Yoga, having studied directly under Guruji BKS Iyengar since 1979, and is considered one of the most senior Iyengar Yoga teachers in Mumbai. She is a Trustee of the Light on Yoga Research Trust, and she teaches extensively in India and has led workshops and conventions internationally, including in the UK, Europe, China, and the USA We warmly invite all students, faculty, staff, and campus residents to join us for these enriching sessions and be a part of this celebration of yoga and holistic well-being.
