Greetings from the Electronics and Robotics Club (ERC), IIT Bombay.
We are excited to announce an exclusive industry visit to Armstrong Dematic, a leading engineering company specializing in intelligent intralogistics and warehouse automation systems. This visit aims to provide students with a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between lab-scale robotics research and real-world industrial deployment, by witnessing how robotics, advanced control systems, and software orchestration power large-scale logistics operations.
Armstrong Dematic develops integrated automation ecosystems that combine robotics, mechatronics, and software intelligence to enable efficient and reliable industrial material handling. Their systems are widely used in modern warehouses and manufacturing environments to move materials, data, and decisions seamlessly across operations.
During the visit, participants will get the opportunity to:
Observe ROS2-based Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) used for warehouse transport
Explore Smart ASRS systems featuring Indiaβs first 4D robotic architecture
See high-speed logistics systems such as Mother-Baby Shuttles and RGVs
Witness a live Robotic Palletizer Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) setup
Attend technical discussions on:
AMR navigation and safety frameworks
AGV/AMR mechatronics and functional safety
ALCOR (AI-powered knowledge systems)
Digital Twin technologies in industrial automation
This visit is designed to give students exposure to real-world robotics systems operating at industrial scale, and provide insight into how robotics, AI-driven software platforms, and advanced automation architectures are shaping the future of supply chains.
