Greetings from Krittika, the Astronomy Club of IIT Bombay!
We are excited to launch the HoloNet Astro Series, our new weekly lecture series featuring domain experts from leading research institutes. And we couldn't have asked for a better start!
This inaugural broadcast features Anirudh Salgundi, PhD researcher at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, who will be speaking on "Outburst Physics in X-ray Binaries".
From Gamma-ray Bursts to Kilonovae, this talk will take you through the world of Time-Domain Astronomy, where the universe is not a static map, but a dynamic landscape of explosive, fleeting events driven by the most extreme objects in existence. You will also get a first look at the upcoming KSP project "The Multiwavelength View", headed by Anirudh himself.
The session is completely online, open to all students, and requires no prior expertise.
Date: 20th May 2026 (Wednesday)
Time: 7:30 PM IST
Platform: MS Teams
