As we advance in our preparation for Inter IIT Tech Meet 14.0, we now take on the final Low-Prep Challenge, this time in the Game Development & AI (GDAI) domain. The Low-Prep Problem Statement titled “3 Level Platformer Game” has been released. This challenge focuses on designing and building a complete platformer experience that demonstrates thoughtful level progression, clarity in game design, and a cohesive theme across all levels. Short Summary of the Problem Statement: Participants are required to design and build a complete 3-level platformer game, where each level is intentionally crafted with progressive difficulty and mechanic introduction. You may choose any sub-genre of platformer, such as puzzle platformer, action platformer, narrative-driven platformer, speedrun-focused platformer, or exploration-based platformer. The emphasis is on strong level readability, good player guidance, and a unified visual/gameplay theme, with no restrictions on game engines or asset tools (beyond licensing compliance). Key Functional Goals: • Exactly three distinct, well-designed levels • Clear progression in challenge and complexity • Progressive introduction and reinforcement of mechanics • Strong readability and player onboarding • Platformer elements such as jumping, traps, hazards, enemies, collectibles, and physics-based interactions • A cohesive visual and gameplay theme across all levels • A meaningful end state after completing level 3 • Smooth and responsive gameplay feel Judging Criteria: Judging will consider creativity in platformer design, quality of level design across the three levels, gameplay feel and responsiveness, and overall completeness of the experience.
