Prof. Archana Pai on Gravitational Wave Astronomy

Feb. 18, 2026, 6 p.m. to Feb. 18, 2026, 8 p.m.
Physics Department
Greetings everyone, Krittika: The Astronomy Club is pleased to invite you to a talk by Prof. Archana Pai on the theme of gravitational wave astronomy and its transformative impact over the past decade. Since the first detection of gravitational waves in 2015, the field has rapidly evolved with hundreds of compact binary mergers observed and studied. These discoveries have opened an entirely new observational window to the universe, complementing traditional electromagnetic astronomy and significantly advancing our understanding of black holes and other compact objects. The session will also touch upon the future like LIGO-India. Date: 18th February (Wednesday) Time: 6:00 PM Venue: Seminar Hall, Physics Department The talk is open to all students, faculty and staff. We warmly encourage everyone interested in astronomy, physics or space science to attend. Looking forward to your presence, Best regards, Anvit Khade | 99877 99311 Yash Palwe | 99709 73860 Managers - Krittika, IIT Bombay Regards, Shahu Patil General Secretary Technical Affairs 25-26, IIT Bombay Contact: +91 91460 50850 https://tech-iitb.org https://insti.app/org/techiitb
