Hello All,
Now that the final Gymkhana Election results are out, it seems about the right time to post this. As we pass on the baton to the incoming Institute Sports Council, I would like to thank the student body for your unwavering support and trust you placed in us throughout this tenure. We take immense pride in being part of a student body that continues to build upon the rich legacy of service and standards set by our seniors, united by a shared vision of strengthening our sports culture, always keeping students’ interests above all.
We were always guided by the thought of how we could improve the experience a student has with sports, giving them a stage to learn, practice, and compete in every sport and facility we can provide, to the best of our abilities. We hope that this council contributed to this vision, and we thank this community for always being direct with the issues and appreciation alike, for this body could not function without your constant support.
I sincerely hope that these initiatives that we have put in place take shape, as has been intended, in the months to come, and the incoming batches can experience something better than what we cherished during our stay; and the future generation of leaders take pride in this establishment and devote their time and efforts towards the service of our Students’ Gymkhana.
On a final note, I would first like to extend my sincere gratitude to all our Sports Officers, SAC staff, ground workers, and pool staff, whose relentless efforts ensure that our facilities remain among the best, even through demanding schedules.
I would also like to thank Prof. Suryanarayan Doolla (Dean SA), Prof. Atul Srivastava (ADean SA), Prof. Himanshu Bahirat (Chairperson, Sports), Dr. Harish Padinjarethil (former-SAC In-Charge), and Dr. Prabhakaran Ramaswamy (SAC In-Charge) for always being supportive of new ideas and initiatives, and countless times going out of their way to help sports flourish on this campus.
I am confident of the direction this community is heading in and trust that it is now in capable hands. I hope this pursuit of excellence continues to define the future councils and this community in the years to come, guided by integrity, resilience, and the true spirit of sportsmanship, and always staying true to the ethos of IIT Bombay Sports -
Until. Victory. Always.
All the best to the incoming council, captains and athletes; may the Bombay Blackcats continue to lead and prevail. It was a privilege to be at your service.
With gratitude, signing off.
On behalf of the Institute Sports Council,
Rajwardhan Dhanaji Toraskar
