Howdy Fellas!
Ever folded a paper crane and wondered if math could do it better? What if an algorithm could fold any 3D shape from a single sheet? Or a single straight cut could magically reveal a perfect star, dinosaur, or alphabet letter?
Computational origami isn’t just art; it’s where geometry, algorithms, and engineering come together to ask wild questions. Can every shape be made with just one cut? Can folds design deployable space structures or microscopic machines? Can code teach paper how to move?
We have Dhairya Kantawala, a 3rd-year mathematics student and a professional origamist, with us to guide us through the intricacies of paper folding!
