Metallurgical Engineering and Material Science
MEMS
"Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science is one of the oldest branch of engineering in the world. Improvements in this field has lead to new era in human history like Iron age and Bronze age. It is the medium through which all other branches of engineering can develop. The MEMS department in IIT-B conducts a wide range of research which includes Biomaterials and devices, ceramics, iron & steel and corrosion resistance. Due to the branch’s broad application, there is a very high scope for interdisciplinary research areas like nano materials, thin films and plasma processing, electronic materials, process modelling and energy materials. Other than the plethora of research going on, we also collaboration with many industries and research centers some of which are DRDO, ISRO, CSIR etc.
So, join us on various events and talks at the department and get to know how inventing and optimizing the materials and their properties shaped the world as we know it."
