About Students' Gymkhana
The statutory self-governing organization representing all registered undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral scholars of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay under the oversight of the Dean of Student Affairs (DoSA).
Established shortly after the founding of IIT Bombay in 1958, the Students' Gymkhana serves as the constitutional apex body coordinating student representation, residential management, academic advocacy, sports facilities, cultural festivals, and technical clubs.
Operating under the statutory authority of the Institute Senate and the Dean of Student Affairs (DoSA), the Gymkhana provides an autonomous, democratically elected forum where student representatives actively participate in Institute governance.
The official executive working year runs annually from April 1st to March 31st, ensuring orderly transition between outgoing and incoming student leadership cycles.
