Dear IIT Bombay Students,
We're pleased to open applications for the
Finlatics Data Science & Machine Learning Experience Program, an online live project that helps students gain experience in
data science with Python and using machine learning algorithms at the
Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
This project runs at leading campuses, including
IIT Delhi, IISc Bangalore, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur and
IIT Roorkee among others.
STRUCTURE of the Live Project:
- Learn the basics of Python and Machine Learning and how it can be used in data science.
- Get hands-on learning and experience in writing various Python codes.
- Dive into practical data manipulation and visualization using essential Python libraries.
- Become proficient in using the Google Colab Notebook for machine learning.
- Gain an understanding of supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms using Python libraries.
- Explore statistical methods crucial for accurate data analysis, empowering learners with essential analytical skills.
- Complete industry-specific case projects to understand the application of Python and Machine Learning in business scenarios.
The project is doable along with any other commitment due to its
work-from-home and online structure.
Student OUTCOMES:
- Certificate of Work Experience in Data Science
- Letter of Recommendation on performance
- A Certificate of Proficiency in Python and Machine Learning

As
Python would be taught in the program, all students must note that
no prerequisites or prior domain knowledge are required to be a part of the program.
Personalized guidance &
mentoring would also be provided to help students learn Python.
Live Sessions will be provided to help you
practice coding with Python.
Project Duration: 2 months (3-4 hours per week, with a
flexible start date option on selected student choice).
Students are eligible for a
break or extension during the project if needed for any
exams, assignments, or personal reasons.
Time Commitment: 3 - 4 hours per week.
