What distinguishes this college from many others and makes it renowned all over the world? Yes, it is due to our alumni who have achieved great heights in myriad fields. Student Alumni Relations Cell (SARC) is a student body run under the guidance of the Dean ACR Office, IIT Bombay. It works to bring the alumni and student communities of IITB together and facilitates fruitful student-alumni interactions through various events and initiatives. It is an institute body officially supported and run by the college. SARC works on several initiatives like Alumni Student Mentorship Program- a mentorship program wherein alumni are the mentors to current students, the Industrial Learning Programme- providing students with opportunities to apply their academic expertise in solving real-time industrial problems through the projects floated by the alumni, and Hostel Alumni Team Stewardship: an alumni-driven initiative that aims to channel the affinity and affection that many alumni have for their hostels for its development and well-being. It conducts Alumination, a 2 day event to cater to the need of the students in the domains of career options, placements, pursuing interests, networking, etc. utilising the resource pool of our esteemed alumni. SARC helps the IIT Bombay Alumni Association in the yearly reunions of various batches generally in the month of December. It also conducts Phonathon, a telephonic marathon organized to give volunteer students the opportunity to interact with our alumni over a phone call. Anyone involved with SARC gets the golden chance of one-to-one interactions with eminent and distinguished alumni like Manohar Parrikar, Nandan Nilekani, Jairam Ramesh, Pranav Mistry and several others. Everyone is welcome to be a member and get the invaluable experience of fraternising with alumni and learning from them!
