Lecture Hall Complex (LHC)
Hello Everyone! IIT Bombay Student Satellite Program (IITBSSP) is a landmark student-led initiative with a vision to create lasting impact on India's Space Technology landscape. Since the successful launch of our first satellite Pratham aboard PSLV-C35 on September 26, 2016, the team has continually advanced toward increasingly autonomous and capable space systems. Looking forward, our next nanosatellite mission, APOD (Autonomous Proximity Operations and Docking) scheduled for Q4 2026 is a modular dual-nanosatellite mission aiming to demonstrate the complex operational technology for docking of CubeSats in orbit. We are also aiming to test the critical enabling technologies onboard the SSLV Module in LEO Experiment (SMiLE). This technological demonstration mission, Space Qualification for IIT Bombay Docking Experiment (SQuID) will serve as the first orbital validation of key technologies required for APOD and related future missions in the In-Space Assembly and Manufacturing (ISAM) domain. We are looking for highly enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join us! If you are passionate about electronics, structural design, communications, flight software, guidance navigation and controls or more importantly how these subsystems come together in a satellite to enable it to perform its intended mission; we invite you to be a part of our recruitment process. Orientation Session Details Saturday, 4th October 2025 Time: 5PM Venue: LH301 Please join the following WhatsApp group for updates: https://chat.whatsapp.com/GMa8EJFWfD51Lgc2fmli4K We will be discussing the work at IITBSSP along with sharing further details about the recruitment process. Students across all departments and years interested in space technology are invited to attend. Recruitment is open to all. Looking forward to seeing you there!
