One-stop platform for PGAC students to seek redressal of their grievances

Submit your concern under the appropriate category and receive a reference number. PGAC tracks it through to resolution, so you always know where things stand.

Report Grievance

Every Concern Matters

The Post Graduate Academic Council (PGAC) is committed to fostering a fair, transparent, and supportive academic environment for all postgraduate students at IIT Bombay. This portal provides a confidential platform where students can report academic and campus-related concerns, seek guidance, and request support.

Whether your issue relates to academics, administrative procedures, hostel life, research, or student welfare, PGAC will ensure that your concern is directed to the appropriate authority and followed up until a resolution is reached. This portal is intended to make the grievance process more accessible, transparent, and student-friendly, complementing the Institute's existing grievance redressal mechanisms.

Objectives

The grievance mechanism exists to make sure student concerns are resolved fairly, quickly, and without fear of retaliation.

Ensure every student concern is heard, acknowledged, and tracked transparently.

Resolve grievances within a defined timeline — the current benchmark is 30 days.

Protect students from any adverse consequences for raising a genuine concern in good faith.

Route each grievance to the right authority or committee, so students don't have to navigate PGAC/Institute structure on their own.

Maintain accountability through documented outcomes and follow-up communication.

Preserve confidentiality of the complainant, sharing details only on a need-to-know basis throughout the process.

What can you report?

You may use this portal for concerns, including, but not limited to:

  • Academic issues (grading, evaluation, attendance, examinations, course registration, thesis or research-related concerns)
  • Administrative delays or procedural issues
  • Scholarship, fellowship, fee, or reimbursement-related concerns
  • Delays in resolving previously reported issues

If your concern falls under a specialized body (such as the Gender Cell, SC/ST Cell, PwD Cell, Anti-Ragging Committee, or another statutory committee), PGAC will guide you to the appropriate channel whenever necessary.

Before You Submit

Please ensure that:

  • You provide accurate and complete information.
  • Supporting documents are uploaded wherever applicable.
  • The grievance is genuine and submitted in good faith.
  • The issue has not already been resolved through another official channel (unless you are submitting an escalation).
  • Please check the FAQs before submitting.

How a grievance moves through the system

Every grievance follows the same backbone — student to SGCC to classification — before branching into the channel that fits its category, and converging again at ISGRC for a final decision.
